Driller comments and fits with a high geothermal gradient caused by the granite (U and K are concentrated in granite and their radiogenicity generates heat). The high Sn concentrations are near the granite.
South African gold mines operate at 2 km deep and pump in ice cold air to the lower levels ( about 60 C there). Mining temp about 35 C at 1300 m deep Renison, I think.
