Talking about Greenbushes - the high grade ( ~3,5%) is exhausted - now lower grade and deeper.
Also there is some better stuff but they built the plant on it.
Also the plant is a miss mash being build as the Li market developed.

China brought on Lepidolite Li mines to flood the market - shot their foot because they are all unprofitable now and have deleterious impurities. Suggestion that is a main cause of battery fires.
China is also the controlling JV partner at Greenbushes - hence driving up production as much as possible to try to keep a lid on price.

All very interesting - and the lesson is that if you have a great hard rock Li deposit (like the one Gina bought from Azure) you are dead set a fortune. Unless that is, DLE from Li brine comes to rule the roost. And there is sure to be Li brine in parts of Oz where there is hard rock Li. IMO.

Re EV and ICE. There are more fires in ICE than EV, and future will make EV safer. But most peeps like the idea of a big gutsie banger under the bonnet. I do !!
However think if ICE was the new idea - Lockitt would be saying "Hey you guys what about keeping a huge tank of highly explosive fluid in the boot?"
