No. Fly ash and metakaolin aren’t in the same league as far as performance, strength, durability and consistency is concerned as I understand it. Plus, fly ash isn’t ‘zero carbon' as far as I know. Looking into it, a 2023 study showed metakaolin blends dropping concrete’s CO2 by 30-40%, outpacing fly ash’s 20-25% in optimized cases. Holcim and big cement players jumping on metakaolin now, here and overseas, speaks for itself. They’re not dumb, they know the market and certainly more than us. As they say.... Follow the money.
