I do find this very odd and wonder if part of it is some hack with an agenda being, let's say, 'creative'. The idea the company has lied to the market is pretty much inconceivable in my mind and at this stage any option could at best be a meaningless 'agreement to agree' as there is no way of fixing a price or pricing mechanism at this point which would be necessary for such an agreement to actually be made.
I do wonder whether or not in advance of the vote the company will say anything on the subject as there may be some minded to vote against the deal if they perceive that the deal may disrupt the bigger picture.
To be clear I think the deal is a very positive sign and am supportive but made perhaps a little nervous by these sort of reports so close to hopefully some great news
