So nobody can answer my previous post as to whether 38% committed at this point in the season is a good or bad thing?

I'm going to offer an opinion that 90% of volume harvested with only 38% committed is very worrying. Is management holding off on sales hoping for an improvement in the almond price? If so, what are the inventory risks?

I'm not surprised that shorts are increasing - shorters focus on the facts rather than sentiment and the facts are pointing to bad news ahead. Management are simply delaying the release of bad news in the hope that the almond price will rebound.
