Lachlan Star Limited (ASX: LSA) has recently reported significant developments at its Basin Creek copper project in New South Wales. On January 16, 2025, the company announced further wide, high-grade copper intercepts from its diamond drilling program. Notable results include:6.2 meters at 1.3% copper from 89.8 meters depth.21.0 meters at 1.2% copper from 138.0 meters depth, including 4.5 meters at 3.0% copper from 153.0 meters.9.1 meters at 2.7% copper from 191.0 meters depth, including 3.5 meters at 6.6% copper from 192.2 meters.These findings build upon previous results, such as an intercept of 79.2 meters at 0.5% copper from 12.0 meters depth, which included a higher-grade section of 0.8 meters at 11.8% copper. The mineralization has been defined over a 200-meter strike length, up to 40 meters in width, and to a vertical depth of 100 meters. It remains open to the north, indicating potential for further expansion. Additionally, an induced polarization (IP) geophysical survey identified a strong, coherent chargeable and resistive response coinciding with the copper sulphide system, which remains open to the north of current drill coverage. This suggests the possibility of extending the known mineralization.
