I agree that Cadia offers some parameters to work with. In the early stages of the exploration of Cadia there was plenty of confusion and doubt that it might not have been economic.... it was in part the analogues of similar deposits in (I think) the US which helped in the first couple of years with that.
Absolutely... plenty of guesswork for a while yet.
