Sighhh......Go back and read the announcement again, they hit hydrothermal alteration + quartz veining in the bedrock (the conglomerate). Low temperature regolith mobilisation can't account for the high temperature alteration assemblege, and you can't smear from young cover sequence to old bedrock units.
Congrats on the discovery team - impressed with the initial exploration modelling and glad its paid off! Bloody hard targeting on top of a salt lake without the aid of robust surface geochemistry - keep at it!
