I posted this to lighten the mood with a bit of irreverence. Thailand aside, I think much of the prevalence of what we are seeing is jumping on the fad bandwagon and a significant percentage of children (say, less than 10 years old) have been led down this path by misguided/loopy parents. IMO.Separately, A person’s sexuality shouldn’t have any bearing on the company whatsoever. Employ the best people, pay them accordingly and the quote (DonC will be able to remind me who said this as the name escapes me), “always remember that we are guests in their country”. Just because the non-heterosexual community is discriminated against to varying degrees in Thailand (as you noted), the Kingsgate BoD won’t apply anything less than acceptable Australian workplace policies in this space.
