It's cactus as far as Chevron r concerned. They made it pretty clear in Dec 2019 about plans to exit this project (net 50%) for which they have invited expressions of interest for their 50% interest. Not sure how much they'll get. Reservoir's rapid decline didn't go their way as far as production goes.
As for WPL, they paid Apache USD 858mil, including 12mil in costs, produced total 29 PJ gas and Revenue of USD29.9mil from April 2015 to Dec2019. This didn't generate any substantial Cashflow from the 15 Tcf or 2C-2636 mmboe gas resource. So not surprised at the USD 720m impairment.
Full year Results Conference tomorrow with Analysts will b interesting as everyone will be keen to hear about their guidance for 2020.
