A royalty deal means that Tesla would have to start with the raw material, run it through furnaces and then DPMG and then manufacture the physical anode for size and shape (I'll ignore cathodes for now) from the pure grahite and then at that point introduce it to the production line. Surely it would be a lot simpler to import pure graphite and all you need to do is shape and size and fit your anode. I know Tesla likes vertical integration but I dont think they make in house every switch in their vehicles. I see NVX as producing the pure graphite but probably use royatlys for Cathodes as the material mix will probably vary from 1 end user to another but it is likely to incorporate DPMG and Single Crystal.
