Finally got round to commenting on latest KWR announcement.
As I thought the footprint still grows with it remaining open in all directions.
This statement is very significant.
“Gold mineralisation is now being found in at least three different bedrock rock types, is associated with a variety of different interpreted geological structures, and also occurs throughout the overlying alluvial sequence”
All this alluvial gold is shedding from a bedrock source somewhere close by and given we have gold in the bedrock across an area so far of 1100m x 2000m and still open points to a very large in situ mineralised gold system.
This following statement indicates there may be even a richer more well endowed system they have yet to gain access to but will once the diamond rig is operational.
“Some of the source areas for this alluvial gold appear to lie outside the limits of present area of drilling, just ‘upstream’ to the immediate west and northwest, of Sir Laurence. These areas lie beneath the least accessible, deeply boggy central area of Lake Goongarrie which the aircore rig and backup vehicle have struggled to access. These will be accessed and drilled more effectively by the purpose-built lightweight diamond drill rig when it arrives onsite.”
If you look at Table 2 and see the comments in the new significant intersections.
Note the constant reference to Black Flag conglomerates and D3 and D4 structures?

What does this mean??
St Ives gold mine on Lake Lefroy states this regional setting.
“Now for a brief rundown of the geology as illustrated on this map and box model. The local country rocks are sedimentary and dip 70 degrees to the SW. The hanging wall rocks are composed of conglomerates and sandstones of the Merougils Creek Beds, which from our drilling to date are barren and have little prospectivity. Mineralisation is hosted within a unit called the black flags mudstone which varies in thickness from 15-100m. Shears form along its contacts which are collectively known as the Speedway Shear. Gold is contained in steep lodes characterised by Quartz, Albite and Pyrite and is very distinctive and easy to recognise against the unmineralised portions of the mudstone host. Lode thickness varies from less than 1m to over 20 metres in the thicker portions of the orebody and has been defined for nearly 2km in strike length. The footwall rocks range from sandstones, conglomerates and andesites and are also part of the Black Flags group. There are some thin but very high grade flat lying extensional veins in the footwall that occur intermittently along the strike length”

What are D3 and D4 structures and why are they so important??
"Similar interpretations of data from orogenicgold deposits worldwide indicate that they consistently formed late in the tectonic and structural evolution (D3–D4 in most structural sequences) of their host terranes, largely during a transition from compression to transpression related to a change in far-field stresses. Thus, any pre-existing structures, and not solely syn-gold structures, can be mineralized and it is structural geometry not structural history which is the important exploration parameter"

“Gold mineralisation of the Zuleika Shear Zone began during the ductile deformation (D3), continued through peak metamorphism that postdates the shearing, and finally ceased after the brittle-ductile faulting event (D4). Gold deposits are primarily located where brittle-ductile faults intersect the Zuleika Shear Zone.Brittle-ductile faults (D4), are developed in three principal structural orientations: N-S (dextral), NE-SW (dextral) and E-W (sinistral). These faults display mutual cross-cutting relationships and were formed synchronously during a single regional shortening event.”
So as you can see the market may have overlooked all this important geological information and focussed on perceived low grades (remember this is air core) and the delay in diamond drilling so coupled with world markets atm showed not much interest.
Very heartening to see though that the register appears tight and the stock was not sold down overtly with very low volume the following day.
Folks this is a longer term play, however where there is smoke there is sure to be fire.
May take a while but there is something of significance under this lake which will take time to understand but it’s there and may in fact be larger than we think.
