    Hi @justreading,
I agree completely regarding your comments related the low g/t Au in AC drilling.
The purpose of AC drilling is to use effective, low cost drilling, to snuff out or "see" below transported cover, in order to target later RC and DD drilling. It is not designed to return high g/t Au. I mentioned this previously in this post here: https://hotcopper.com.au/posts/57681439/single

I like the transported cover story. As others have stated here, all the gold close to surface has been found (mostly) and so you can re-hash old pits and mines in brownfields areas with diminishing returns (yes, they may have existing infrastructure, mills etc) or, you can test out a greenfields area and perhaps discover something big lurking beneath.

(Edit note: not cross promotion but example used for illustrative purposes)
My main holding (as many here would already know) is in BRB. BRB found a greenfields discovery under as little 5m of transported cover back in 2015. (Another editing note: BRB's Bombora deposit was also under a salt lake).

Here is the table of AC drill results from 2015. Note the low Au levels.

From the ASX:BRB ann of 26th June 2017

“The wide (80m) drill hole spacing combined with transportedcover and a stripped weathering profile limits the “footprint” of the secondarygold dispersion targeted by the aircore drilling. End of-hole multi-element sampling in these areas identified cohesive arsenic, bismuth, silver and tellurium overlying the strongly altered quartz dolerite (gold values <0.1g/t Au ...

That ann revealed a 4km extension to an already 2km strike length all snuffed out with AC drilling.

Earlier in the year (24th January 2017) Targeted RC drilling returned results from one of my favourite early holes, BBRC0142, (60m total depth) of:
    24m @7.75g/t from 9m,
    5m @11.66g/t from 16m,
    2m @12.59g/t from 23m,
    1m @1.14g/t from 31m
    including
    19m @9.66g/t from 9m,
    18m @10.15g/t from 9m
    14m @12.15g/t from 11m, and
    1m @53.47g/t from 13m

So rather than look at yesterdays results and dismiss them as less than impressive, I look at them for what they are - markers that may point the way to something large below.

    All jimho.
    Good luck longs.
