Hi Silver King,
You have a very valid perspective.....@metaljaune is listening with intent. Please say more if you have specific insights.
You reveal your wisdom through your flawless assessment of TMZ, TMR, OGC and TIE.
Please share what you know about gold mining in New Zealand. Opinions welcomed, facts preferred.
Here is my Thesis:
A much bigger play is on foot in which SNG is only one piece of the puzzle, however Brian Rodan does seem to be exceptionally well connected in this space.
There is too much gold (Multi-billion dollar resource) in the Reefton Goldfield to be ignored, stranded or sterilized.
Gold mining in NZ is transitioning to low impact underground operations (Martha U/G, Snowy River Project, Frasers U/G, Wharekirauponga Project). Here is a link to a fact sheet that explains this strategy.
Interactions with Department of Conservation in Hokitika and Greymouth have been supportive and they advocate responsible exploration and mining that complies with the current legislative framework. (Adam McKay, Advent Gold, July 2019)
Below is how Federation Mining have met the requirements at the Snowy River Project, Blackwater Mine.
The Reefton Gold tenements are currently held by entities that are controlled and/or backed by some of the industries most astute investors/operators/developers. See below:
Siren Gold Ltd - Brian Rodan (Mine Developer, Mining Entrepreneur), Paul Angus (NZ Exploration Specialist)
Federation Mining - Mark Le Messurier (Mine Developer/Operator), Jim Askew (Industry legend, Ex Chairman OceanaGold)
OceanaGold Limited - Established NZ Gold Miner, ESG Benchmarker.
Reefton Gold Ltd (Advent Gold) - Canadian backed including Eric Sprott & Oliver Lennox-King.
Sandfire Resources (Sam's Creek tenements) - Karl Simich (CEO) - Note Sam's Creek is now in play given Auris Minerals termination of purchase.
All of the above individuals are well known to each other, which is not mere coincidence. At one time or another they have worked together or collaborated on past successful Mining Ventures. Evolution Mining, Westgold Resources, Dacien Gold, Sandfire Resources and OceanGold. Connections and allegiances run deep here.
Easy to imagine, collaboration/consolidation occurring at Reefton as these assets are developed. Perhaps a joint owned spoke and hub processing plant?
I am curious why Sandfire Resources did not mention Sam's Creek asset in their presentation at Diggers & Dealers. Perhaps a new deal is in the making?
A comprehensive and transparent Sustainable Mining Development Assessment/Application underpinned by up to date PFS/DFS reports is a given for a Mining Project in this decade irrespective of jurisdiction.
Undoubtedly, there will be objectors to any proposed development and the assessment process may be prolonged and exhaustive but in the fullness of time, a clear pathway to Gold production exists.
Plenty of scope to accommodate ESG requirements, including flora, snails, frogs and any other crazy NZ critters considering the deep intellectual mining experience and connections of project promoters with vested interest in the Reefton Goldfield.
Considering SNG's current Market Cap, I considered the downside to be limited and the upside to be significant.
What do you really think?
