IMO it is most likely the smart investors selling out, they know a company just doesn't object to a patent application if it has no impact on its business. If RNU uses any of the 25 approved patent steps, they will need to alter their flowsheet and come up with a new solution, this has further impacts on the quality of its PSG and its ability to secure binding offtake agreements.

RNU would have been better off staying out of the patent objection and left the objection to Dorfner, this wouldn't have put into question RNU's purification process or the other implications.

No, it has no impact on EGR's business or obtaining its development approvals.
If the patent isn't granted it does not change the current business model or its purification process.
All of their development (purification) won't change either, so offtakes are not at risk.
