Considering the Patent objection has no impact on EGR and RNU has disclosed it may have implications for their purification process. it seems extremely odd RNU hasn't provided this evidence as part of their objection.

This is going to drag on for months, Once RNU supplies the information, EGR has a further 2 months to reply. it is then assessed over a 2 month period, Once a decision is made, either party can appeal the decision. All parties occur significant legal costs and costs can be awarded against the objecting party if the patent is upheld. Seems like a significant risk for RNU to object just in case they might want to use certain aspects of the purification process, Why would you bother if this has no impact on your business.

IMO, this appears to be more critical to RNU than the ASX announcement alludes to and may impact RNU's ability to sign its PSG offtakes.
I know I would be questioning why RNU is objecting to the patent if they are not using a similar flowsheet.

I think the time frame on a standard patent is three months for the objector to provide evidence, then a further three months for the applicant to rebut.

Opposition to the grant of a standard patent
A notice of opposition must be filed within three months of the advertisement of the acceptance of a standard patent application. After you have filed the notice you have a further three months to file a statement of grounds and particulars.
The statement must list every document that you are relying on to oppose the grant of the patent.
A copy of each document must be filed at the same time, or you must indicate that the document is open for public inspection at IP Australia.
