I believe that it would be prudent to take any projections on timelines with a large grain of salt.
They will no doubt run behind schedule and people should come to expect that so they don't leave themselves open to disappointment and emotional decision making.
I would much rather prepare for the worst, in so far as expecting timeline overruns, and hope for the best and be surprised when something comes in under time than I was expecting.
