    The Yanks utilise MT to refer to "Metric Tonne" which we in Australia simply refer to as "Tonne" or symbol t

    If I was reading a company report in Australia and read 10Mt, I would associate this with 10 Million Tonnes, as we only utilise metric units

    Always a source of confusion when the Americans are involved given their imperial units
