One thing that gives me just a little hope, perversely, is that here almost everyone is reacting with automatic indignation at the prospect of an acquisition - diametrically opposite the norm.
That said, management better articulate a rather convincing rationale for what is (on the surface) a very unconvincing acquisition. There is hope. The bar of expectation is very low.
