Aircraft crown skins have long been a hotspot for cracking ie. Aloha incident etc. hence increased SB inspections for cracking. The Wifi dome is installed to the fuselage crown skin. The crown skins on Boeing 737’s are typically very light gauge material (very thin). Hence with operators adding the wifi install there is increased potential for cracking due to additional flight loads encountered . IMO huge advantage to CVM sensors fitted as this would reduce the access required to inspect. Taking away the need to either remove the fairing from the outside which can be quite troublesome due to the size and location and reduce the amount of internal access from the cabin.
