Why would Platinum have any interest in taking over a biotech? Thats generally not what fund managers do, unless thats their investment mandate and they have balance sheets like Berkshire Hathaway (BS, not FUM!). Platinum have operated in this space for a long while and I can't recall that being a prior strategy. The risks are manifest and multiple and Platinum are fundamentally not operators of assets in this class.
Can you expand on the basis for your idea they might lob in a low-ball offer?
