yes - in my SMSF I have been accumulating credit income trusts more than of shares over the past few months (latest KKC). I am finding the (monthly) income returns are a bit higher than many REITS although they are starting to look expensive now (PCI).
I will be entering retirement sooner, rather than later, and find the monthly distributions attractive. I always doubted interest rates would fall this year I'm not sure about them falling next year either. If interest rates do fall a bit I might have to look at something else.
