It was a conversion of debt to equity - unsure if VNL saved money on interest with the early conversion.
This announcement is cashflow neutral, however is does allow them to exercise the related options for a cash payment.
I suspect they'll do that once the exercise doesn't breach the 20% threshold (post post the next dilution)
