Hi!
I took this to mean a continuous test period of 35 hours.
Given constant load, temperature, and humidity, if it produced a steady output in excess of 1ma for 35 hours (without going into orbit, or turning itself into a toxic cloud of superheated dust) then it would be reasonable to expect it to continue to do so, maybe indefinitely - at least under controlled lab conditions (but not necessarily under variable, real-world conditions).
The 35 hour period could have been a subset of the three day test period. Your 72 hour (3 day) calculation above is consistent with both statements in the announcement. (To produce 100 mahs in 72 hours means the average output had to be in excess of 1 mah per hour, which requires an average current in excess of 1 ma.)
Also, there were undoubtedly multiple tests done during the development process. Hypothesise; test; observe; adjust; test again; repeat.
The announced results represent the state of ongoing development and testing at the time of the announcement.
