    Yes... damn the uneducated grammar revisionists! It would have made more sense to create a NEW third person, common gender, singular pronoun. "They" will always convey plural to me, regardless of the grammar revisionists. Even "it" (third person, neuter gender, singular) would have been a closer fit - possibly anatomically as well as grammatically! ;-)
