"...the material set cost for prototype Energy Ink™ cells was reduced to under AUD 20 cents per cm², with further reductions possible through bulk sourcing of input materials. Achieving meaningful energy output at such a low material cost represents a key technical advancement and enhances the potential to commercialise the Energy Ink™ technology."

While this IS encouraging progress, cost per unit output of electricity would be more meaningful information. How much electricity will one square centimetre of Energy Ink cell produce in its working lifetime? Scaling up a bit, 100 sq cms would cost $20. Within its useable lifetime, how close is it to matching the total lifetime energy output of $20 worth of non-rechargeable conventional batteries?
If it can match this, with ecologically friendly construction materials, it has the potential to turn some of us into millionaires!

Not ready to start buying yet, but watching this space for further development... and a bit more useable information.
