You have been a bit quiet lately but I figure you are still watching.

Today we can see one of the best examples of price manipulation if ever there was one, in TPD. Have a look at the course of trades for the day and you will see 103 trades for a turnover of 3.6mil TPD shares. $686,439 worth of TPD shares were traded across the ASX and ChiX today.

During the day there were 1,837,650 TPD traded at 19 cents & 1,798,650 traded at 18.75 cents and right on the close of the auction (the very last trade of the day) we saw a single trade of 5,000 shares at 18.5 cents.

That means approximately $686k of shares traded in the GREEN all day but TPD closed RED on a single trade of 900 bucks!!

The ordinary retail investor who only looks at their watch list sees 3.6mil of turnover and a red finish and like you thinks to themselves...why is the price still going down? Truth is, that is not what is really happening....but it is being made to look so. If the shorters keep this up day after day, but on a much bigger scale, eventually shareholders capitulate and sell, straight into their waiting arms! If they know that the sharks (ie shorters) are circling retail and institutional will get out, which adds to the selling, sit back, and wait for the bottom.
