Something to consider, OT, if you haven't already done so, is the plant capacity factor.
Wind and solar farms, with capacity factors of 15% to 45%, average output can be quite modest over time, but can be very high on occasions when operating at full throttle.
Hence the need for storage when the sun is blazing and the wind is strong enough to max out the machine, generating more power than needed by the grid. Storage at source is very desirable.
No such problems with GTs. They have their own, but different, problems to deal with. IMO. J L.
