AEMO does not count rooftop scale solar in their statistics as it is 'non-dispatchable power'. Meaning that it cannot be turned off and on at the network level. But in sunny WA with a high consumer uptake it is now a high component of the electricity generated on sunny days.
Rooftop solar is in fact at the heart of the current network problem of power mismatch. It is neatly shown by something called The Duck Curve. It's not just a WA problem. It happens on every network with a high uptake of rooftop solar.
