makes more sense now and explains the subdued SP following recent great news.
what if it is MIN that is shorting to get a large position for a T/O as you suggest and another party just starts buying big on market and it rises significantly? Can the shorters always have control in the unusual situation where it's no risk?
or if another offer comes in for TPD? all those shares earmarked for closing the short positing would be useless and they would have to cover on market I assume?
we get ripper results at SE2 and our SP should be going nuts. Do the shorters keep it subdued and make it drop again?
does it matter to them what price they short it at as they buy the required amount of TPD to make sure the amount of STX they get eventually will cover the short positions?
must be some risky scenarios or we could be sitting at 40 cents indefinitely or at least until the takeover concludes.
