When you call out a logging unit and crew for a perforation job you get the people and equipment to do just that. A logging unit will arrive on site with just the tools and people required for the job at hand. If a client expects a full set of logging tools to be supplied...then they pay for same.

SLBs WA base is 3-4 hours drive from the well site so it's more cost effective to call out extra tools and people as required for unplanned operations rather than have them sitting around at site on full rate and not being utilized. These days even the baskets the tools come in are charged at a daily rate.

re coiled tubing unit...you may be right but in these situations I'm used to seeing efforts made to pin down exactly where any water is coming from before getting into remedial operations.
