Being a wireline engineer is a hard call.....youre sort of f&&&d either way you go. Drillers give wireline a hard time because they dont think theyre a critical part of the operation. Many engineers don't help this image by rigidly towing the SLB line and acting like theyre oilfield royalty while on site. I've worked with some excellent wireline crews...but I've also worked with Engineers who needed continual managing and reminding that they were a part of a bigger operation.
