hey chokdee, after your writing I had to do some calls to friends of mine in the railroadbusiness and they are not confirming your saying. The tracks are build from a Portuguese company 8 years ago. Actually a pretty good quality for African standards, with mainly concrete sleepers.
there is partly a old track aside, perhaps from this there are pieces disappearing. I will get report tomorrow how often there are trains running, but it’s only used from Vale. Even got pictures from the tracks. The best is the small wooden custom hut on the boarder of Malawi in the middle of nowhere...
regarding beating the bush to much... I guess the management would love to get a bid from the big boys and for this it’s nice if the shareprice is elevated a bit! Not bad for us as well, no?
