This is a fantastic step forward - proving the technology OUTSIDE the laboratory.
Just add a dose of direct sunlight and you split the Hydrogen from the Oxygen and produce Hydrogen gas.
Naysayers said it couldnt be done "on scale" big this is a huge step to proving them wrong.

Do NOT, repeat do NOT underestimate where this stock could go..........

Sparchits new heights in photocatalytic water splitting at CSIRO Energy Centre

SparcTechnologies announced that Sparc Hydrogen, a joint venturebetween the University of Adelaide, Fortescue, and Sparc Technologies, hassuccessfully concluded the initial phase of on-sun prototype testing atthe CSIRO Energy Centre in Newcastle, New SouthWales.

The ASX-listed company said this marks a significant milestone for Sparc Hydrogen, as it represents the first-ever demonstration of their photocatalytic water splitting (PWS) reactor outside the confines of a laboratory setting.

The primary objectives of thisphase were to elevate the technology readiness level (TRL) of Sparc Hydrogen’sPWS reactor from 4 to 5 and to generate crucial data for the design of a pilotplant reactor.

Multiple trial runs during thetesting phase resulted in the production of hydrogen gas, underscoring theviability and promise of the technology.

Additionally, the testingrevealed key insights leading to modifications in the reactor design, shapingthe blueprint for future iterations of the PWS reactor.

Sparc Technologies expressedgratitude for the support received from the CSIRO Kick-Start Program, a pivotalinitiative designed to assist innovative Australian start-ups and smallbusinesses by providing access to CSIRO’s research expertise and capabilities.

The financial backingfacilitated the prototype testing and aligned with Sparc Hydrogen’s commitmentto advancing clean energy technologies.

Sparc Technologies ExecutiveChair Stephen Hunt expressed satisfaction with the completion of the recentround of prototype testing with Sparc Hydrogen partners, including TheUniversity of Adelaide, Fortescue, and Flinders University, at the CSIRO EnergyCentre.

Hunt highlighted the value ofthe data and insights gained from the on-sun trials, emphasising its importancein enhancing reactor design as the technology scales toward a pilot plant.

“Completion of this test work isa significant milestone, not only for Sparc Hydrogen, but more widely for theadvancement of photocatalytic water splitting, a next generation green hydrogenproduction technology which does not require capital intensive electrolysers, nor solar or wind farms,” Hunt noted.

Looking ahead, Sparc Hydrogensaid it plans to undertake another round of prototype testing at the CSIROEnergy Centre, tentatively scheduled for the first half of 2024.

Simultaneously, the company hasengaged an external consultant to conduct a pre-FEED (Front-End EngineeringDesign) study for a pilot plant.

The selected location, in closeproximity to Adelaide, forms the basis of this study, set to conclude by theend of 2023.

The study encompasses acomprehensive concept flowsheet design, equipment selection, cost analysis, andrisk assessment for the pilot plant, which, if commissioned, would elevate thetechnology readiness to TRL 6.

The outcomes of this study willplay a crucial role in grant applications and lay the groundwork for detaileddesign and engineering in 2024.
