Yes they are competing technologies but I am optimistic there is common and overlaping infrastructure. The running energy source can be the same (solar) and extraction, storage and transport seems to be larfely the same. So, I think the Fortescue's developement is not a bad thing. At the very least it is doing a food job of attracting public attention to green hydrogen and then better deserved attention to SPARC's PWS based approach.
