VOD is under a lot of pressure now that they have sold their Verizon (VZ) stake. VZ propped up VOD above 200p for quite some time. A lot of their global interests have not been making money: Australasia has been a basketcase and they would be better off getting out of Australasia all 2gether concentrating on their European business, UK, Africa and Asian/Latam growth & keeping their SP above 200p. I think the minute they sold VZ, their global interests would need to be reassessed and it is shambolic that Vittoria Colao has not followed up. Their Australian business is not as loss-carrying as their NZ business. I think the NZ business should be hived off first and then their Australian business. All of their good execs now work at VZ which has a share price of moving on $50 with more to come so who knows who can take strategic business decisions in London. VOD has been a shambles and a sandwich short of a picnic. Colao and VOD will get more backing when he sells off its poor businesses in NZ and Aust and concentrates on India (and resolving its issues with the Indian revenue office), Europe, UK, Africa and Asian/Latam growth markets, esp. if he wants to get fundies supporting the SP above 220p.
