Can't help but think we don't really need a vaccine or a cure. Just some way to combat the nasty respiratory symptoms so it doesn't require hospitalisation for old and vulnerable people.
The flu itself is nothing to younger healthy people and it's easily shaken off. The whole problem would go away if it wasn't so dangerous to a small portion of the population. You'd catch it, fight it off, maybe feel tired and fevery for a day or two then back on with life.
