The ASX or NSX or any other stock market is simply a platform that connects buyers and sellers who want to trade shares in companies. In order for a company to be able to trade on an exchange they need to make an application to that exchange and agree to a series of listing rules. These are over and above the requirements set down in the corporations act.

If a company breaches the listing rules they can be removed from the exchange. Companies can also choose to delist or they can go belly up and be removed as well.

In the case of AB1 the company breached listing rules, or rather listing rules were introduced that AB1s business model were in breach of. So the company was suspended and later delisted.

The shareholders still own shares in the company. The company still exists and trades, it still produces reports and company updates, shareholders can still buy and sell stock. Just not on the ASX.

It can reapply to the ASX to be relisted, or apply to another stock exchange elsewhere. But for now the company just continues on as it did.
