Ok, so I called Commsec

There is no path by which Commsec can 'embrace'/recognise international shareholding transfers. They can be transferred by a broker to a Commsec international account but only from an international broker. Funny enough some brokers offered by Commsec contact include NAB; Westpac; Macquarie, IG Markets, CMC.

A transfer can be completed after receipts of the DRS. So there is a 'black hole' period between the date you receive the DRS and the date that you transfer them via an international broker to your trading account.
