    I don't necessarily invest for yield - yield is just a byproduct of a well run, good growth company for me. I can name ones with higher yields but which are not doing as well, and I can name companies that are growing much faster but with no or paltry dividends, but I can't think of many that meet both criteria in my universe. Perhaps SDI fits the bill.

    I wouldn't call DDR "cheap" at about twice the earnings multiple of the market at current prices. It is a good business, but probably not worth paying 2x as much as the average company trading on the market. The current yield is also skimpy at just under 3% - it doesn't compensate me well enough for the risks. It's a different story if you bought at the beginning of the year or earlier.
