Yes Galena I understand reasonably the rutile market. Along with research from when SVM changed from Malingunde graphite development plan to rutile exploration I researched it quiet a lot to attain an understanding to decide on holding - and of course the company and Sprott has drilled it to everyone. Not withstanding the fact the rutile market would have survived without SVM'S discovery but it does appear a valuable asset but many Malawian infrastructure issues remain - even the port at Nacala in Mozambique is hindering Syrah's operations to a very large extent that they now load from a new port at Pemba as well as Nacala for example.
The 1 billion dollars you mention. I have flown this thought for a while now. There appears a huge effort to drill and prove up the resource as biggest in world - come and buy it. Little has gone into PFS - DFS - BFS just more and more resource extensions which is great however unnecessary when a company proves up a 20+ year resource - the exploration expenditure is withdrawn as clearly they have a large JORC to develop a mine WITH excellent scope with deposit open NSWE and at depth whatever. Any case they have a ripping asset they continue to expand on - Malingunde who knows however Malawi Govt regulations are that a company is to spend a certain amount on expenditure per annum or forfeit the EL - no mention for some time - I even considered and posted a long time ago they were looking to offload that asset to assist finance the rutile mining capex.
Certainly worth holding a ticket but as with these projects - locations they are potential in nature generally for quiet a while.
I saw Appollo Minerals announcement today and had a look into them. None other than what's his name involved - dear oh dear I've forgotten. However I hold 2 of his interests in SVM and ODY and a third.
