    a good day for MLS is 20% increase, a good day for a blue chip is 3% increase, these things are all relative so saying they held up well because they didn't lose half their value means your ignoring the risk profile associated to speccys, your not gonna 10x your money in 5 years putting your money in Apple and Google, this only shows the value in having a diversified portfolio
