It is a VERY interesting read, because it basically suggests Woodside may almost be the winner by default.
The other oil majors almost all have Middle East assets which effectively rules them out to the extent that they don't even want it known that they've even been talking to the Israelis.
The next frontrunner is Gazprom, but that comes with its own geopolitical baggage that the Israelis want to avoid.
So that leaves Woodside evaluated against the four judging criteria of expertise in gas and LNG (tick), ability to raise finance (tick), ability to find a customer (can't be too hard in gas-starved Israel and Europe) and bid size.
JohnnyThunders, what are your thoughts on this for WPL? Considering you are positive about international diversification but negative about overexposure to LNG.
