I would have thought that you can use a printout of the statement from the company that shareholders will receive no return and no part of the new entity to claim a capital gains event (loss) in your 20/21 return after June 30th next year, which is the earliest possible date you could claim a capital loss. I intend to do that and don't expect it to be disallowed by my accountant or the ATO. Just have to ask Commsec how to remove it from my portfolio, especially as it keeps showing the last traded price at 0.79 and distorts my portfolio valuation.
I just wish I didn't have to keep receiving letters and notifications from that horrible disaster of a company. SAS = Shaft Aussie Suckers. I sincerely wish them the worst of luck in their new endeavour to fleece the next generation of suckers.
