Can you see any relevance now? Making the software work across different 'platforms' is not a walk in the park. My meaning is that they will need to keep any and all guru's to make it come together....if it is possible. And the GOAT already had that down pat....did he not? At least I thought so many years ago...
SO, your statement about 'services in house' and 'custom made' is my point.

To date EVERY sale they have made is 'Bespoke'

I wont go into the definition again, pointless to those that are faithers and only see the toffee on top of the rotten apple you buy at the school fair (Apologies to the mums that work so hard for these things - just trying to draw a mental picture)

IMO, the tech is BS - they need a team of specialists working around the clock for each iteration to make it work. For each customer...
