I noticed all the X trades too. I tried to do my bit and put an order through at 2.1c with enough volume to take us back there from 1.9c but nearly all of it got routed to cboe via best execution and filled at 1.95c. So my little experiment failed but I’m happy with the price. It actually slightly decreased my average when I was expecting the opposite.
there was a bit of funny business going on in the sell side of the stack today. Small lots, changing order size, offers getting pulled before execution. No idea what’s going on but the only purpose I can imagine is to keep the SPP from getting much uptake. Perhaps it will fail at retail level and then get picked up by some insto or the directors? Just guessing though. Hopefully all the funny buggers being played stops after the SPP closes.
