Current price for USPG is $1800-2100USD/t whereas IG6 uses $4500USD/t in long term model. I know pricing in China is not transparent. But reality is we need western graphite price bifurication to get these projects online. Same as with lithium, China is happy to make a loss in their domestic supply production of Li and graphite to subsidize EV production and sales. Downside for graphite over lithium is China has a limitless supply of pet coke to make synthetic anode from wheres Li the lepidolite supply will run dry eventually.
I really like IG6 and have held for 3 years but don't see market turning anytime soon, cost of opportunity is why I am not holding into future. Hopefully I'm wrong and there is a quick turnaround
