I used to think Gilman was a steady conservative hand at the tiller. Too late I realised how little he actually seemed to know about the diseases that SIRT was treating and how little effort he seemed to put into exploring the potential. If he or others in the company had been reading around the topics and new information relating to oncology and genetics then there could have been studies with better outcomes being done, even on a smaller scale. Instead they left the door wide open for other companies like BTG. Maybe Varian will do a better job, there is still plenty to do with the other cancers they were exploring and follow up now on right sided colon cancer and HCC, at least they know where to look in the future.
