Perpetual Limited ("Perpetual") - Cancellation of ASX Announcement:

FORM 603 - NOTICE OF INITIAL SUBSTANTIAL HOLDING IN CONTACT ENERGY LIMITED
(CEN)

On the 11/02/2016, Perpetual Limited lodged to the market a Form 603 as a
substantial holder of Contact Energy Limited (CEN) with a holding of 5.99%.
This notice was incorrectly calculated using an issued capital base of
183,339,718 shares.

With Perpetual's holding of 10,986,032 shares, the correct holding percentage
is 1.52% and the Notice of Initial Substantial Holder (Form 603) should not
have been lodged to the market and we ask that it be cancelled.
