Nature of relevant interest(s):
The Crown is currently the registered holder and beneficial owner of
2,563,000,000 Shares. Pursuant to an investment statement and prospectus
dated 20 September 2013 as amended on 27 September 2013 (the Offer Document)
the Crown offered to sell up to 1,255,870,000 Shares (the Offer), with the
purchase price for the Shares to be paid in two instalments, and with
successful applicants to be issued with instalment receipts corresponding to
Shares (Instalment Receipts) pending payment of the final instalment. The
Offer has now closed and the Crown has conditionally agreed to sell
1,255,413,626 Shares under the Offer, with allotment of Instalment Receipts
to successful applicants scheduled to occur on 30 October 2013, subject to
completion occurring under the Offer Management Agreement (as defined in the
Offer Document).

MEL entered into a listing agreement with NZX Limited on 29 October 2013,
making MEL a "public issuer" for the purposes of the Securities Markets Act
1988 and meaning that the Crown's existing shareholding is deemed to be a
"substantial holding" that requires disclosure under that Act.
